How it works

Three steps, no software to install

Everything happens in this browser tab, on your own computer.

  1. Choose or drop your photos

Pick HEIC files, or a whole folder straight from a phone copy, a shared drive or an email download. Subfolders are kept.

  2. Pick quality and photo info

High or medium JPG quality. Keep the date and camera info, or remove location and camera info for a clean file.

  3. Download the JPGs

One ZIP with every JPG in the same folder layout, or save single photos from the list.

What it does

Built for folders, not one photo at a time

Whole folders

Choose or drop a folder. Subfolders are kept inside the ZIP, and files that are not HEIC photos are skipped and listed.

Location removed

GPS location is never copied into the JPGs. Or switch to "Remove location and camera info" for JPGs with no photo info at all.

Date and camera kept

By default each JPG keeps the date it was taken and the camera details, so photos still sort by date.

Upright photos

Photos taken sideways come out the right way up, and the colour profile is kept so colours match the original.

One bad file never stops the batch

A damaged or incomplete file is marked in the list with the reason, and the rest of the batch carries on.

Two quality levels

High for photos you will print or edit, medium for smaller files to email or upload to a listing site.

Who uses it

For the PC on the receiving end of iPhone photos

Real estate agents and admins

Listing photos arrive from an iPhone as HEIC and the listing site wants JPG. Convert the shoot in one go, with location left out.

E-commerce and marketplace sellers

Product shots from a phone, a folder at a time, ready for a store or marketplace upload that only takes JPG.

Office and admin teams

Site, claim or ID photos that colleagues and customers send from iPhones open on any work PC as plain JPGs, with no software to install.

FAQ

Questions

Does Heicpal upload my photos?

No. The converter runs inside your browser tab: your photos are read and turned into JPGs on your own computer, and they are never sent to us or anyone else.

You can check it: once the page has loaded, disconnect from the internet and convert a batch.

Does it work on Windows, Mac and Chromebook?

Yes. It runs in a current version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari on Windows, macOS, ChromeOS and Linux, with nothing to install. It also works in a phone browser, though large batches are slower there.

How many photos can I convert?

Free: up to 10 photos per batch, and as many batches as you like. Unlimited ($12, one-time) removes the limit per batch in the browser where you unlock it.

Photos are converted one at a time, so even a batch of several hundred keeps memory use low; the time it takes depends on your computer.

What happens to the location data in my photos?

It is removed. With the default "Keep date and camera info", each JPG keeps the date and time it was taken and the camera details, but the GPS location is left out.

Choose "Remove location and camera info (EXIF/GPS)" for JPGs with no photo info at all.

What do I get for $12?

No limit on photos per batch, paid once. After payment you come back to Heicpal, which confirms the payment and shows your license key. The browser you buy in is unlocked at once; enter the key on the unlock page to unlock your other browsers.

What about Live Photos and burst shots?

A HEIC file can hold more than one image. Heicpal converts the main photo, the one your iPhone shows. The moving part of a Live Photo is a separate .MOV video file; it is skipped.

Can I get a refund?

Full refund within 14 days of purchase: email support with your receipt.
